Donate Books

Plan Ahead for Direct Library Donations

If you would like to donate items in excellent or good condition specifically for the Kodiak Public Library collection, please contact the Library Director at 907-486-8688 or the Main Desk, 907-486-8686 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Staff and patrons appreciate the kind donations of many residents, visitors, volunteers, and U.S. Coast Guard members, yet, sometimes there are "too many books and not enough time." Staff processes materials donations as time, space, and need allow. Please help us coordinate the effort by calling ahead at 907-486-8688. Thank you.

How to Donate Gently Used Books to the Ongoing Kodiak Public Library Association (KPLA) Book Sale in the Library Lobby

Kodiak Public Library Association is a local, non-profit organization whose mission is to support public library programs and services through fundraising, volunteerism and special events.  The association runs a used book sale in book bins in the public library lobby during library hours.  KPLA stocks the bins with inventory from its Fall Book Swap and Summer Crab Festival Book Sale.  In addition, any items donated to the public library that are not needed for the library collection are donated by the public library to the Kodiak Public Library Association for its KPLA book sales. For information about the KPLA Board and KPLA Membership, please visit the KPLA Facebook page or the KPLA web site at the links below.
