The Public library is set to assist you with your technology needs.

Get FREE one-on-one help with a librarian. Contact Laurie Madsen, Library Director, if you're interested in getting help. By appointment only, these 30 minute sessions from 1:30-2:30 on every Monday day will allow you personalized attention to help you with the following: 

  • Introductory computer skills
  • Introduction to the internet
  • Setting up an email account
  • Introduction to the library catalog-how to find a book, a CD, or a DVD, place holds and manage your account.
  • Downloading ebooks, audiobooks and streaming movies and tv shows from Overdrive, Libby or Kanopy
  • Research beyond the internet-learn to use the Library’s online research tools.

The Kodiak Public Library has a variety of useful technology tools that may be borrowed.
Equipment and available services include:

  • Public computers 
  • Laptops and iPads for in-house checkout (2 hour limit)
  • Free Wi-Fi; 
  • Flatbed Scanner; 
  • Copy machine services;
  • Black and white, and color printers;
  • Fax services;
  • Video teleconferencing (VTC) services;
  • Conference phone;
  • Microfiche reader and digital scanner, and; 
  • Multimedia Station containing software for web design, movie production, photo editing, and sound recording 
  • LD projectors and projection screens
  • Binoculars
