Economic Development Special Committee
The Economic Development Special Committee is established by resolution. The nine-member committee was established to develop and initiate an economic develop plan. The resolution set guidelines and defined the membership to include the Mayor, and two Council members, of which one shall be designated as Chair and one as Vice-chair; and six community members who represent any of the following: Aviation and Support Services, Community and Civic Organizations, Construction Contracting and Trades, Health Care and Medical Support Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Marine Transportation and Support Services, Professional and Business Services, Retail Goods and/or Services, Seafood Harvesting, Seafood Processing, and other Representation Deemed Appropriate by the City Council. There is no residency requirement. The City Manager, as well as additional City staff designated by the City Manager, shall serve as nonvoting consulting members of the committee, if requested. The City’s Economic Development Consultant shall also serve as a non-voting member of the committee.
