Author H.L. Burke will be visiting Kodiak. Born in a small town in north central Oregon, H. L. Burke spent most of her childhood around trees and farm animals and was always accompanied by a book. Growing up with epic heroes from Middle Earth and Narnia keeping her company, she also became an incurable romantic.
An addictive personality, she jumped from one fandom to another, being at times completely obsessed with various books, movies, or television series (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Star Trek all took their turns), but she has grown to be what she considers a well-rounded connoisseur of geek culture.
H. L. Burke is the author of multiple fantasy, YA Fantasy, Steampunk and Super Hero books. Selected works will be available for purchase. She will also be hosting a panel about evaluating critique on writing on Saturday at 1pm.
Looking for something to buy? Check out booths from Grand Slam Toys & Games, the Islander Bookshop/KPLA used book sale, special guest author H.L. Burke, local comic collectors, and a local artist!
Video games, carnival games, board games, roleplaying games, scavenger hunts - come play a game at Fan Con!
Video game competitions will be held for Mario Kart 8 on Friday and for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Saturday. Mario Kart will have two competition groups, Ages 10 & Under, and Ages 11+. Super Smash Bros. will have two competition groups, Ages 10-13, and Ages 14+. Early sign ups will be given priority, otherwise walk-ups will be welcome to compete. SIGN UP HERE.
