DATES OF IMPORTANCE

  • September 18, early voting will be available
  • September 26, last day City of Kodiak absentee ballot requests may be received in the Clerk’s Office
  • October 2, last day to early vote in-person
  • October 3, ELECTION DAY and the last day to mail a voted absentee ballot
  • October 10, must receive absentee ballots by mail by 5 p.m. (ballot envelope must be post-marked no later than October 3, 2023)

Absentee Voting By-Mail (Aplikasyong Balota Pangliban sa Paraang Koreo ng Lungsod ng Kodiak)
A qualified voter may submit an application for an absentee ballot to the City Clerk. The application shall include the applicant’s name and signature, present mailing address, and full local Kodiak resident address. An application submitted by mail or by electronic transmission must be received in the City Clerk’s office not more than six months before the election and not less than seven days before the election. For more information about this option, please call the City Clerk's Office at 486-8636.

Early Voting (Maagang Pagboto)
Voters may early vote in person from Monday, September 18 to Monday, October 2 in the Borough Assembly Chambers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Special Needs or Personal Representative Voting (Pagboto ng May Espesyal na Pangangailangan)
Per Kodiak City Code 2.16.065, a qualified voter who is unable to go to a polling place to vote because of a disability may vote a special needs ballot. The voter may, through a representative, request a special needs ballot from the City Clerk, or the City Clerk’s duly authorized representative, on any date after the ballots are prepared and available, up to and including election day. For more information about this option, please contact the City Clerk's Office at 486-8636. 

Voter's Pamphlet (Polyetong Opsiyal ng Eleksyon)
The pamphlet is mailed to all registered City voter households and available below. It contains important information in English and Tagalog, such as a map of the election precincts within the City of Kodiak, sample ballots, an absentee ballot application, candidate information and statements, and general voting information. 

Are you Qualified to Vote? 

Voter registration is open throughout the year; however, State election law requires that you be registered to vote 30 days prior to the election to be eligible to vote in that election.
