Tax Ordinances, Rates and Forms
The current sales tax rate is seven percent on all sales, services and rentals. The maximum taxable amount is $3000.00 per a single transaction; please refer to City Code sales tax Chapter 3.08 at the link below. The hotel/motel tax rate is five percent in addition to the sales tax rate of seven percent. Real Property Rentals maximum taxable amount is $750.00.
The real property taxes are collected by the Kodiak Island Borough on the city's behalf and then distributed to the city.
