Juvenile Collection and Services
Welcome! Our Juvenile Collection is housed in our Children’s Room.
Enter through the blue tunnel or come on in through the open double doors.
Kodiak Public Library has juvenile materials for children of all ages and reading levels. We have shelves of Board Books for our youngest patrons and bins of Picture Books for everyone. Beginner Books, also called Chapter Books, are on display especially for our beginner readers. Our Juvenile Fiction collection is full of favorite classics and brand new series and authors. Explore the Nonfiction collection for facts, history, science and hobbies! Music and films are in this Room, too.
Our Global Languages shelves have juvenile titles in over fifteen languages. Want to read The Wheels on the Bus in Tagalog? Rainbow Fish in Japanese? Green Eggs and Ham in French? Or Harry Potter in Spanish? You can at Kodiak Public Library!
In addition to materials that may be borrowed, special programs and services are designed for our younger patrons. They include:
- Story Stroll and Craft Kit Tie-Ins
- Battle of the Books collection
- Computers with printer access
- Summer reading collection and programs
Children of all ages are welcome at the library. We remind parents and caregivers that the library is a public building and that library staff do not provide babysitting or daycare services. Children up to 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
