Burn Permits
Persons requesting a burn permit can either call (907)486-8040 or come in person to the station to complete the application process.
The Kodiak Fire Department issues Burn permits for the City of Kodiak per Sec. 7.20.040 of the Kodiak City Code . Permits are free of charge and can be obtained at the Fire Station between the hours of 0800 - 1700 daily. Once issued permitee is required to contact the Burn Line at 486-8030 prior to igniting a permitted burn. The Kodiak Fire Department uses the National Weather Service for its source of information when determining if burning is allowed. Any forecast for winds 15 mph or greater constitute a no burn day.
